Insurance coverage for acupuncture

I am an in-network provider for most major insurances in Oregon.

If you have an insurance claim for a car accident, I do bill auto insurances, and you are entitled to acupuncture treatment at no cost to you.

Some of the insurances I accept:

Moda

Kaiser Permanente - physician-referred only

Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield

United Healthcare

Providence

PacificSource

MVA/PIP (auto accident/worker’s comp)

A few notes about acupuncture and insurance coverage in Oregon:

Not all insurance plans offer coverage for acupuncture treatment, please check with your insurance to verify you have acupuncture benefits. I bill insurance as a courtesy, and can also help with insurance verification upon request, however please be aware that ultimately the responsibility for understanding your coverage and payment of treatment falls to you. There are rare occasions when insurance does not cover as predicted, in these instances you will responsible for full payment for treatment. Many people ask for estimates on cost when their insurance is based on co-insurance (percentage) rather than copay. However, with variances in deductible and fee schedules with each insurer, I am unable to provide estimates.

A personal note regarding acupuncture and insurance coverage:

I base my treatment plans on best possible outcomes. At times, this does not line up with visits or coverage available with your insurance. When this is the case, I encourage you to put yourself and your health first when you make decisions on booking, rather than letting your insurance be a deciding factor. Chinese medicine and acupuncture are based on preventative care, and unfortunately insurance companies base their coverage on a model of sick-care and minimum of treatment. Because access to Chinese medical care is something I’m passionate about, and also because I understand that finances can be a concern, I do offer package discounts for those who are committed to treatment.
